July 11th CLOSING DAY!!!

On July 11th we were told that we would be closing on our house that afternoon. We were so excited. It had been such a long couple weeks. A little backstory is that we ended up with a house a little more then we originally wanted to pay. But we were fine with it because with the interest rates so low our payments were only going to be like 1080 which we figured we could do so we put the offer in and it got accepted. We offered less then what they asked for and they ended up getting another offer for more then they asked. We couldn't go any higher and let them know that and they decided to go with our offer since we had a family. We couldn't believe it we were so happy. The inspection, done by my dad, went well. There was only a few things they needed to do. Number one was to get the dog crap out of the basement since they kept 2 huge dogs down there. The house stunk like crazy. So they cleaned it out and the house smelled better but still stunk like dog. Well since we had the rural loan our papers took a lot longer to get done. They kept saying that it will be done soon and nothing ever happened. It was so frustrating. Then they had everything done and the underwriter for the rural place was being stupid and asking our mortgage guy to redo a bunch of stuff even though they were coming up with the same numbers as our mortgage company. Finally the guy I was working with called the rural office and talked to the manager since the stupid lady had put it off for like a month. The manager ended up telling her that she was doing it wrong and that my guys had done it right in the first place. It was so irritating. Then on top of that the interest rate went from a 3.25 to a 4.6. And our mortgage guy said we couldn't lock in till 15 days before closing and since it was unclear when that would be he kept putting it off. At 4.6 our mortgage would have been $1,487. That was way to much. We were thinking about pulling out. There was no way we could pay that much. I was so confused since everything worked out so smoothly in the beginning and then everything just seemed to be spiraling out of control. I am pretty sure the last 2 weeks before we closed I was on the phone every day seeing what the interest rate was doing. We prayed every night to have it come down to a point that we could afford it and still be able to afford food and gas. I fasted pretty much all day on Saturday and Mike fasted on Sunday and on Monday when I called it had gone from a 4.4 to 3.875. I told him to lock it in and so he did and with in a few hours it was back up to 4.6 and has been in the mid 4's since that time. God really heard and answered our prayers. It is still going to be super tight but it is do-able now. So we were told finally on the 11th that we would be closing at 2. So Mike got off work and we headed over. As we were driving my realtor called me and said they had lost some papers and didn't know when they would find them and that some wouldn't fax through. Again I started to stress. Mike took me to Ikea so we could walk around and relax a little bit. At 4:30 they called and said they had the papers and that we could close. So we headed over there and a few hours later we had closed on our house. They said that it needed to record to the city and then we could get our keys. We ended up getting our keys on Friday the 12th and then on the 13th we moved into our house. We had a few of mikes friends from work, Cam and Taylor, come and help. Cam brought his tailor. My parents and James and Tricia and Sterling and Chelsea and Tom and Randy and Matt all came and helped. My parents brought their trailer and Tom brought his trailer. We got everything packed up on the trailers and in my car and Mikes car and Randy's tahoe and my dads suburban and we all headed over to the house and unpacked. My parents even brought their old green couches so we could have furniture in our front room too. It all fit perfectly. Everyone was so sweet to come and help and I feel truly blessed to have such amazing people in my life that are willing to give up half their Saturday to help us move. Because of all the people helping we were able to get every packed up and unloaded at the house between the hours of 9 and 12. It was awesome. Thank you all so much.

Pictures to come soon...
